Anguilla

Anguilla is a United Kingdom Overseas Territory and the most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. Anguilla’s Commercial Online Registration Network (ACORN) provides the jurisdiction with an innovative computerised company registration service which allows for instant incorporation, every hour of the day and every day of the year. Chinese character names are allowed.

A discrete, low-key financial services jurisdiction, Anguilla offers a zero tax rate, with no income, capital gains, estate or other forms of direct taxation imposed on individuals or corporations; no exchange controls; effective regulation; a proven legal and court system based on the British legal system; and a comprehensive and innovative package of financial services legislation. 

Harneys has practiced Anguillan law since 1998 and currently has 11 qualified lawyers who advise on corporate, finance, litigation, funds and regulatory matters out of our BVI, Cayman and London offices. We have advised on many of the jurisdiction's most substantial lending transactions, drafted the documentation for the only Anguillan law governed bond issuance and regularly advise on disputes involving Anguillan enitites. In addition we have the only practice specialising in close-out, netting and collateral issues in relation to derivatives, repo, securities lending and brokerage documentation.
