A deal in which Harneys acted has been short-listed for IFLR Asia’s Debt and Equity Deal of the Year.

 

Harneys advised the Bank of East Asia on all BVI issues relating to the transaction. In particular, Harneys represented Innovate Holdings Limited, a BVI company, in respect of its issue of US$500 million preference shares in connection with an issuance by its parent, The Bank of East Asia, of up to US$500 million Hybrid Tier I Capital Instruments under a stapled format, comprising subordinated notes issued by BEA and the Preference Shares. 

 

Michael Gagie and Paul Lau led the Harneys team on the BEA matter. Other advisers included Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Simmons & Simmons.
