Expertise and Professional Background

Tamara is an associate in the BVI Banking and Finance department. She advises banking and corporate clients on the BVI aspects of finance transactions. Her work includes real estate finance, project finance, acquisition finance, securitisations and structured finance and subscription finance.

Tamara was recently seconded to a USA law firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York, where she trained with the Corporate Department and learned a great deal about the practice of US law; in particular the workings of complex Private Equity/M&A transactions. She was regularly involved in transactions involving, debt and equity offerings; mergers and acquisitions; agreement and disclosure documents that are in use for M&A transactions in the USA. 

Tamara joined Harneys in January 2015 as a participant in the firm’s Professional Development Programme for newly qualified lawyers where she gained experience in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial, Litigation, Investment Funds and Regulatory departments before being appointed permanently to the Banking and Finance department.

Prior to joining Harneys Tamara worked as an associate at Forbes Hare. Prior to pursuing her legal studies Tamara spent seven years as a corporate and trust administrator for two financial service providers in the BVI.

Tamara is also a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths.
