Expertise and Professional Background
Jonathan joined Harneys in 2008 as a member of the Investment Funds and Regulatory Team in the firm's Cayman Islands office and became a Partner in 2010. Before his arrival at Harneys, Jonathan had worked in Cayman for four years as a senior associate with two other leading commercial firms and prior to arriving in Cayman he had worked for one of the leading firms in Bermuda.
Jonathan has considerable experience advising a range of clients from fund managers to adminstrators and investors on all aspects of establishing, operating and participating in offshore fund structures. Jonathan also has extensive experience of advising in respect of structured finance and more general financing transactions including acting as offshore counsel to a range of major institutional clients on CDOs and CFOs and advising lenders in respect of various secured lending facilities. He has also advised more generally on aspects of Cayman company law and in relation to corporate finance transactions.
Prior to moving offshore Jonathan had been a member of the financial services teams in Dundas & Wilson, CS based in Edinburgh and subsequently Clifford Chance LLP, London.
