Expertise and Professional Background
Jamal joined Harneys in 2002 and brings over 8 years of experience in intellectual property in both the public and private sector. His client base currently comprises some of the largest law firms from major financial centres around the world, including the City of London, Hong Kong, New York and Singapore as well as the in-house counsel of many Fortune 500 companies. He currently advises on a wide range of corporate issues, including all aspects of intellectual property law, partnership law, company registration (with an emphasis on special purpose vehicles for intellectual property management and corporate redomiciliations), and corporate structure & governance issues.
Prior to Harneys, he worked at the Registry of Corporate Affairs where in addition to dealing with trade marks and patents his primary task was the implementation of the Partnership Act, 1996 as well as handling various corporate matters, including applications for share capital alterations, mergers, continuations and solvent liquidations.
He is also a member of the International Trademark Association's Non-Traditional Marks Committee.
