Expertise and Professional Background
Tim is a Partner in the Cayman office. He joined Harneys in 2004 as a member of the firm’s Investment Funds and Regulatory Department in the BVI and became a Partner in 2008.
Tim has considerable experience advising on all aspects of BVI and Cayman investment fund structures, in particular on the restructuring of investments funds and the transfer of control of regulated entities. Tim also commonly advises on unregulated structures, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and corporate solvency issues. Tim is head of the
Distressed Funds team and also a member of the firm's Latin America practice group.
Prior to joining Harneys, Tim worked at Garretts and then Olswang where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, international group reorganisations and structures, public and private fund raisings, venture capital investments, joint ventures and corporate governance. Tim earned an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School before joining Harneys. He has previously worked in Japan and speaks Japanese.
