Expertise and Professional Background
Russell joined Harneys in 2005 and became a partner in 2009. Russell is a member of the Banking & Finance Department. While Russell’s practice encompasses all aspects of banking and finance, he specialises in issues relating to security and advises many of the major banks, prime brokerage providers and industry organisations on questions of netting and collateral and the enforceability of derivative arrangements particularly in the context of British Virgin Islands, Anguillan and multi-jurisdictional insolvency proceedings.
Before joining Harneys Russell worked in the structured finance department of Allen & Overy in London specialising in structured investment vehicles, CDOs, repackagings and other forms of structured debt.
