Harneys is pleased to announce the addition of dispute resolution partner Andrew Johnstone to its Hong Kong litigation practice.
Andrew joins the firm from Holman Fenwick Willan in Hong Kong, where he practised for six years in their dispute resolution team following his relocation from their London office in 2012. Andrew specialises in multi-jurisdictional litigation, with broad experience spanning Hong Kong, the PRC, Indonesia, India, Pakistan and the UK. His practice focuses on fraud and asset tracing, asset preservation and enforcement issues, shareholder disputes and corporate insolvency.
Harneys’ Asia Managing Partner Ian Mann, commented: “Andrew is highly regarded as one of Asia’s leading litigators and we’re immensely proud to have him on the team. His broad dispute resolution experience is the perfect complement to our existing offering and he will play a key role in enabling us to continue to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
Andrew’s wide-ranging experience significantly bolsters Harneys’ Asia litigation and restructuring team’s already market-leading offering, which remains unrivalled in terms of depth, breadth and diversity of work. At 32 lawyers the team is by far the largest in Asia and is widely recognised as the lodestar of the region’s offshore litigation landscape. The team also consistently remains at the forefront of the development of offshore jurisprudence in restructuring and insolvency, routinely winning awards for its precedent-setting work.
Andrew’s recruitment brings Harneys’ Hong Kong partner headcount to 12, with the wider team of 50 lawyers now being the largest offshore law firm in Hong Kong. The firm’s three full-service Asia offices across Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai also represent the largest network of any offshore law firm in Asia.
