Harneys' Hong Kong office marks its 10th Anniversary

Harneys’ Hong Kong office, which has grown into the second largest offshore law firm in the city, will mark its 10th anniversary this year. The practice, which was promoted to Band 2 in Chambers’ Asia-Pacific 2015 directory, has experienced rapid growth over recent years and now boasts 30 lawyers and 68 staff. The guide praises the firm’s Asia teams for their “formidable insolvency and restructuring capability” and “increasing presence in the corporate, finance and investment funds sector, attracting mandates from leading financial institutions, asset management companies and multinationals.“

“Asia is a key growth driver for the firm and we have been delighted by the recent progress of our Asia practice,” said Asia Managing Partner Jonathan Culshaw, who has headed Harneys Hong Kong since 2012. “In the last 12 months alone we have opened in Singapore, significantly boosted our Restructuring and Insolvency capability and launched a Japan-focused practice. We plan to mark our anniversary year with notable new hires as we further expand our high calibre team.”

Harneys Hong Kong advises on BVI and Cayman Islands law with regard to transactional matters such as banking and finance, corporate, capital markets, funds and trusts as well as litigation, restructuring and insolvency. Its key clients include leading onshore law firms Allen & Overy, Linklaters, JSM Mayer Brown, King & Wood Mallesons, Deacons and Kirkland & Ellis and major international financial institutions such as HSBC, UBS, Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas.
