Harneys wins trio of HFM Awards for leadership in global investment funds markets

Harneys has been named Best Offshore Law Firm at the HFM US Hedge Fund Services Awards this week, marking the firm’s third win in 2016 from HFM. In September, Harneys picked up the equivalent award in Asia, following an award in Europe in April 2016. The awards recognise firms that have provided leading client service, innovation and expertise in financial services, and follow a number of funds and global awards for the firm, which continues to grow.

The awards reflect Harneys’ growing presence globally, in particular for investment funds work. The firm has presided over several years’ double digit growth, while also launching a Bermuda legal and fiduciary practice, adding Asia offices in Tokyo and Shanghai in addition to its long-established Hong Kong and Singapore offices, and ongoing expansion across global offices including in London and Cayman. Harneys also recently won two awards for funds work in Africa, and earlier this year was named The Lawyer’s Offshore Law Firm of the Year for outstanding legal excellence, market-leading strategy and commercial strength.

Jonathan Culshaw, Harneys Global Head of Investment Funds and Regulatory, commented: “We are now one of the most dynamic, fastest growing offshore funds teams worldwide. As we grow we look to build lasting relationships with clients through clear and commercial advice, a friendly and unpretentious approach to doing business and flexible and transparent pricing, free of unreasonable assumptions. We treat our clients as our valued partners and are uncompromising in our firm-wide commitment to achieve excellence in client service on time all of the time. It gives me great pleasure to see the efforts of the team recognised in this way on the basis of the objective feedback of happy clients.”

In Cayman, Harneys has rapidly closed the gap between its legal practice and other firms in the jurisdiction, forging a strong trajectory with new hires and practice expansion.
