On 24 September 2020, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) launched a Consultation Paper (CP) reviewing the reference data and transaction reporting (TR) obligations under the Market in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR).
The CP contains proposals for possible amendments to the TR and reference data regimes with a view to simplifying the current reporting regimes and enhancing the quality of the data reported.
Based on feedback received from stakeholders, ESMA will develop the final review report for submission to the European Commission in Q1 of 2021.
The period to submit comments for the consultation closes on 20 November 2020.
