Cayman extends CARF registration deadline to January 2027

On 25 March 2026, the Department for International Tax Cooperation (DITC) published an industry advisory announcing an extension to the registration deadline under the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF).
Cayman Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Providers (RCASPs) are now required to register the necessary information on the DITC Portal by 31 January 2027, instead of the original deadline of 30 April 2026. This extension ensures RCASPs have adequate time to comply once the portal functionality becomes available.
Key registration requirements:
- The RCASP’s name and identification details from relevant regulatory bodies.
- Full contact details of the principal point of contact (PPoC) and an authorised individual for change notifications.
- The date the entity became an RCASP.
Principal Point of Contact (PPoC):
The PPoC must be ‘In the Islands’, i.e. locally reachable to facilitate timely communication with the DITC.
An entity is "In the Islands" in the following circumstances:
- For individuals: A physical address in the Cayman Islands.
- For entities: Incorporation or registration in the Cayman Islands with a physical address (not solely a mailing address).
Submissions lacking sufficient contact details may be rejected or subject to follow-up.
