Biography

Emile is a member of our Funds & Asset Management and Regulatory teams in the British Virgin Islands. Emile advises clients on all aspects of the formation, licensing, maintenance, and restructuring of offshore funds.

Before joining Harneys in 2025, Emile qualified as a solicitor in Ireland, where he worked for Eversheds Sutherland LLP, a global top 10 law practice. Emile trained in the funds, corporate, tax, and real estate departments before qualifying into the Investment Funds and Asset Management team, where he advised on regulated and unregulated investment funds, asset management regulation, and general financial services regu

Providing Irish financial services legal advice to a large overseas financial services provider, including but not limited to advising on compliance with AIFMD, SFDR, and Consumer Credit Regulations.

Assisting in drafting a term sheet and cross referencing with constituting documents for a new unauthorised UK hotels fund, structured as a master/feeder with a Jersey Limited Partnership and a UK exempt unauthorised unit trust.

Providing ongoing fund servicing for an umbrella QIAIF structure with nine sub-funds, including the establishment of five new sub-funds investing in various asset classes.

Advising on the establishment of an Irish 1907 Limited Partnership Fund, which invests in decarbonisation technologies across key sectors of food and agriculture, energy, built environment, heavy industry, mobility and transport, and carbon management.
