Ian Clark is a partner in our Hong Kong office where he specialises in advising clients on Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands fund products (hedge and private equity) and regulation in addition to advising on general corporate matters. Prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2016, Ian spent two years in Jersey with a large Channel Islands-headquartered law firm where he specialised in Jersey fund products and regulation. Ian has particular expertise in the ever-growing digital asset space. Before qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland, where he trained with a large full-service commercial law firm, Ian interned with the legal department of NATO, spending time in Belgium and Afghanistan. During his time in Afghanistan, Ian drafted legislation for the Afghan government to introduce a national biometric ID card which was subsequently implemented into domestic law.
