Biography

Marc Piano is a member of the Investment Funds, Corporate, and Banking & Finance teams in our Cayman Islands office. He regularly advises on all aspects of the set-up, operation, and closure of investment funds including matters related to corporate governance, regulatory compliance and the automatic exchange of tax information. Marc also advises lenders and borrowers on subscription financing and a wide range of clients on general corporate and regulatory matters. Marc also advises lenders and borrowers on subscription financing and a wide range of clients on general corporate and regulatory matters.

He has extensive expertise and experience in multiple jurisdictions advising on blockchain technology and virtual assets projects and co-authored the Law Society’s September 2020 report “Blockchain: Legal and Regulatory Guidance”. He has presented and delivered training around the world to lawyers, regulators and interested parties on the topic and has extensive experience in relation to virtual asset project structuring, regulation and general legal considerations.

Marc joined us as an associate in 2020 having previously worked as a fintech, corporate/M&A and finance specialist at Fox Williams in London and at Bedell Cristin in Guernsey prior to that.
