Expertise and Professional Background

Jeremy Child is a partner in our Litigation and Insolvency Department. He splits his time between our London and BVI offices.

Jeremy regularly advises on strategy and procedure relating to international commercial disputes involving BVI corporate, partnership and trust structures, fraud, asset-tracing and preservation, and insolvency and restructuring work. He has extensive advocacy experience having appeared in some of the BVI’s most significant cases since he joined Harneys in 2011. He is recommended by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500.

Recent Experience:

Before joining Harneys he spent 8 years practicing as a chancery barrister at Enterprise Chambers in London where he remains a door tenant. He frequently appeared successfully in the High Court and Court of Appeal in England and a number of his cases have been reported.

Jeremy is a member of RISA and an overseas member of the Chancery Bar Association.

Chambers and Partners: Jeremy is applauded as a tenacious and highly skilled advocate. His peers say: “When I'm up against him I have to be extremely prepared, because I know he'll take each and every point he can”, they praise his courtroom performance, and call him a “good safe pair of hands”.
