On 16 November 2022, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) announced the launch of its online campaign titled “I Learned the Hard Way” to better educate existing and potential investors. The aim of the programme is to enhance financial education and empower investors to take control of their financial lives. A series of tips will also help investors make informed decisions when conducting financial business.
CIMA’s campaign identifies the following areas which may empower investors to take control of their financial lives:
- Choosing an investment that is right for you
- Understanding the risks
- Understanding an agreement before signing
- Making informed decisions
- Recognising the red flags
A webpage will act as a centrepiece for the campaign and a helpful informational resource for users. A series of tips will be shared weekly via CIMA’s social media platforms, along with related blog articles and other material.
