On 29 May 2025, the House of Representatives of Cyprus approved the long-anticipated Investment Fund Administrators Law (IFA Law), which aims to strengthen the regulatory framework for fund administration conducted in Cyprus. The passing was announced to the industry by the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) on 2 June 2025.
In a nutshell, providers of fund administration services in Cyprus may become subject to an obligation to obtain a licence from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and to operate as a regulated institution.
The IFA Law has not yet been published in the Official Gazette. We are tracking publication and will provide an update as soon as the law is available.
