On 12 April 2022, the Cyprus Bar Association (CBA) issued a list of Questions and Answers (Q&As) providing clarifications on the EU’s fifth wave of restrictive measures against Russia and the amended Regulation 833/2014, with regard to the sanctions imposed on Russia in light of its actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine.
The Q&As are a result of a meeting held between the CBA, the Ministry of Finance’s Sanctions Committee, the Central Bank of Cyprus, the Cyprus Legal Service Department, and the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver, to discuss the relevant sanctions and obtain answers to questions raised by stakeholders in enforcing the sanctions.
CBA’s press release listing the Q&As can be found here.
The measures implementing the EU’s fifth wave of sanctions imposed on Russia on 8 April 2022 can be found here.
