Andrew Chin is a counsel in our Litigation and Insolvency team in our Hong Kong office.
As a litigator, Andrew specialises in commercial and shareholder disputes with expertise in multi-jurisdictional disputes, obtaining interim measures in aid of arbitration and enforcement of awards in the BVI and Cayman Islands. He is able to advise clients in both English and Mandarin and his clients include a large number of Mainland Chinese companies.
Apart from litigation, Andrew also has vast experience in acting as counsel (in both English and Chinese) in commercial disputes under various arbitral institutions, such as the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, International Chambers of Commerce, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Centre. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Prior to joining Harneys, Andrew practised Hong Kong and Singapore law and worked with international law firms in Hong Kong and as a tribunal secretary and assistant to Mr. Michael Hwang SC in Singapore, who is one of the leading arbitrators in the Asia Pacific. Andrew is also one of fewer than 100 solicitor advocates to have been granted higher rights of audience by the Higher Rights Assessment Board of Hong Kong.
