Biography

Anya Allen is a member of our Litigation & Insolvency and Restructuring team in the Cayman Islands. She advises a wide range of clients including liquidators, companies, directors, shareholders and creditors in high-value cross-border litigation. She has particular experience in asset tracing, preservation and enforcement in fraud matters. She also provides support for litigation and arbitration proceedings overseas, including seeking interim relief from the Cayman court in support of proceedings overseas, and enforcing foreign judgments and arbitral awards in the Cayman Islands. Anya Allen is a member of our Litigation & Insolvency and Restructuring team in the Cayman Islands. She also provides support for litigation and arbitration proceedings overseas, including seeking interim relief from the Cayman court in support of proceedings overseas, and enforcing foreign judgments and arbitral awards in the Cayman Islands. Anya regularly appears before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, and has appeared before the Cayman Island Court of Appeal and Privy Council as junior counsel.

Before joining Harneys in 2018, Anya worked at Meredith Connell and at Duncan Cotterill in Auckland, where she was involved in large-scale asset recovery litigation and Crown matters, and appeared as sole counsel before the District and High Courts.

Anya is a member of RISA and IWIRC.

Appearing as junior counsel at the Privy Council in relation to contentious share valuation proceedings;

Advising an award creditor in respect of its international efforts to enforce a substantial arbitral award, including obtaining asset disclosure orders; and

Acting company-side in multiple share valuation proceedings under section 238 of the Companies Law
